Kensington families continue to navigate the interconnected effects of trauma, violence, addiction, grief, educational barriers, and economic instability.

In 2024, Philadelphia ZIP code 19134 recorded 179 unintentional drug overdose deaths—the highest number of any ZIP code in Philadelphia. The Philadelphia Department of Public Health confirms that figure.

BFHH responds by creating trusted, community-rooted spaces where youth and adults can heal, build supportive relationships, develop practical skills, and move toward greater stability and opportunity.
